Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How much does therapy cost?
My fee is £40 per session. Each session lasts 50 minutes. I also offer a limited number of concessionary spaces at £20 per session. These are designed to make therapy more accessible for people who might find cost a barrier to getting the support they need. If you would like to ask about a concessionary rate, please feel free to contact me!
Q. Do you offer face-to-face sessions?
At the moment, my practice is fully online. Many people find online therapy flexible and convenient, as it allows them to attend sessions from the comfort of home. I hope to offer face-to-face sessions in the near future.
Q. Is online therapy secure?
Yes. I use a secure video platform called VSee, which is designed for healthcare and therapy. VSee is an end-to-end encrypted platform that protects your confidentiality. I also take care to keep your personal information safe in line with GDPR and professional ethical guidelines. For more information, please see my Privacy Policy.
Q. What can I expect if I contact you?
I offer a free 15-minute chat so that you can check if we're a good fit for working together before making a commitment! You can tell me a little about what brings you to therapy and ask any questions you might have about my practice. This also allows me to assess your needs and collect important details if you decide to book a session with me.
Q. What can I expect from the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and form a plan for working together. I’ll ask some questions about your history and what you’d like to work on. We’ll also talk about how I work as a therapist, so you can get a sense of what to expect. There’s no pressure to share everything at once.
Q. How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly 50-minute sessions. As therapy progresses, we might meet less frequently depending on your needs. This is something we’ll decide together.
Q. How long will I need to be in therapy?
That varies! Some people come for just a few sessions to work on a specific issue, while others stay longer for deeper, ongoing support. We’ll review your progress regularly, but you always have the final say on your own treatment.
Q. Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
I offer a flexible range of appointment times to suit your needs. If you’d like to check my current availability, please get in touch.
Q. How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is made by bank transfer or secure online card payment before or shortly after each session. If you choose to book a session with me, I'll send you the details then.
Q. What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full. However, I understand that life can get in the way sometimes, so this is something I'm always happy to discuss with you!
Q. Do you only work with certain issues?
I’ve successfully supported clients with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, low self-esteem, and more. However, you don’t need to have a “diagnosis” to come to therapy — it’s enough that you feel you’d like support. If you bring something to me that I feel unequipped to work with, I will always help you find the appropriate resources to get the support you need.
Q. How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
A big part of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist, and it's important that you feel I'm the right fit for you. A free 15-minute chat is a good way to see how it feels to talk to me, and if you choose to book with me, our first session will be dedicated to building the foundations of our working relationship. If for any reason it doesn't feel like a good fit, I'll support you in finding another therapist.
Q. Do you work with LGBTQ+/neurodiverse clients?
Absolutely. My practice is LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity-inclusive, feminist-informed, and a safe space for people of all backgrounds. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your unique needs in more detail!
Q. What if my question wasn't answered here?
If you have any other questions or concerns that you couldn't find the answer to here, please feel free to contact me!
